Actors 2, 3, and 4: (walk into candy shop)
Store Owner: Hello. Are you looking for something
particular?
Mrs. Walter: No, just searching
Store Owner: Well, we have long candy ropes, big jars of
large gumballs, and huge gummy bears. Help
yourself!
Ben: Wow. That sounds amazing. Can we all buy something,
Mommy?!
Mrs. Walter: It depends on what you want
Cassie: (Wanders towards the candy storage room in the
back of the store and goes in {she wanders off stage})
Ben: I want everything! How am I supposed to decide?
Mrs. Walter: No Ben, not everything. Where did Cassie go?
Ben: I don’t know (distracted by the candy shelves)
Mrs. Walter: (says to actor 1) Have you seen my daughter?
She’s gone missing!”
Store Owner: No, I haven't, but I will keep an eye out
for her.
Mrs. Walter: Thank you. Cassie, Cassie, Cassie!
Ben: (Wanders over to giant gummy bears)Yummy!
Mrs. Walter: Ben come back here!
Ben: (walks back to actor 4)
Mrs. Walter: (Wanders around the store.) Cassie, Cassie!
(Suddenly finds herself at the back of the store near a door)
Cassie: (on other side of room digging into piles of
candy.) Yum, this is like heaven. ( throws candy into the air.)
Mrs. Walter: What’s that strange noise coming from back
there?
Cassie: (becomes very quiet and shrinks into a corner to hide.)
Mrs. Walter: (look for actor 3 but does not find her.)
Cassie: (pops out) Mommy look at all this candy!
Mrs. Walter: Cassie! Get out of there right now!
Cassie: Never! ( grabs handfuls of candy and shoves it in
her mouth.)
Mrs. Walter: (Marches towards actor 3) Cassie!
Cassie:(Jumps up and runs around the room away from actor
4)
Meanwhile...
Ben: (Climbs up the candy shelf {the one with lollipops
on the top shelf} and tips the shelf over
Store Owner: ( Runs over and tries to stop actor 2, but
is too late)
Mrs. Walter: (Comes back holding actor 3 by the hair)
Ben, stop! (lets go of actor 3.)
Cassie: (Runs over and joins her brother in the pile of
spilled candy) Woooooo! Candy!
Mrs. Walter: Cassie! Ben! STOP!
Store Owner: (Comes over with a mad look on her face)
(Starts to pick up all of the spilled candy)
Mrs. Walter: (Grabs actor 3’s hair and actor 2’s ear)
(starts to walk out of the store) I will bring you a check to pay for the
damage! (Calls back to actor 1)
Later that day…
Mrs. Walter: (Walks back into the still ruined candy
shop)
Store Owner: (look up from cleaning and sighs at the
sight of actor 4)
Mrs. Walter: Don’t worry, I don’t have my kids with me!
Store Owner: (Doesn’t find this very funny)
Mrs. Walter: I brought you this… (Holds up a check for $2500)
Store Owner: (looks up) Thanks (takes the check from
actor 4)
Mrs. Walter: (waits for actor 1 to see the money amount)
Store Owner: (sees the cost written on the check)
(smiles) (Grabs at the candy that she just cleaned off of the floor and throws
it into the air, more happy than ever)
Ben and Cassie: (enter) Mommy, since you have already
payed a lot of money, can we get one big gummy bear?
Store Owner and Mrs. Walter: (laugh a little)
Mrs. Walter: Absolutely Not!
