Anxiety by Evangeline Gunderman

Anxiety
A beast
A monster that feeds
On your darkest thoughts
And doubts
And fears

You can’t get rid of it
Your chest tightens
And your stomach clenches
You swear it will take over
Ruin your life

But it will only take over if you let it
Don’t let that beast control you
Your actions
Your life
Don’t become your anxiety
A shell of yourself
Fight it

Do everything you can
Though it won’t leave completely
You can control it
Be stronger than it
You just need to try
And eventually
It might leave
You won’t need to fear the world
Or fear the rejection of those close to you

You can live fearless once more
