The Murder: A 5 Minute Mystery by Ai Xing

Mr. Ubridge and Mrs. Ubridge were a newly married couple. They had lived happily for a couple months, but little arguments had started to happened. Mr. Ubridge knew it was a mistake the 3rd time he caught her stealing from his wallet. The second time he caught her using his private bank account, he snapped. He just couldn’t take it anymore.
That night, he took his hunting gun and shot her. He carried the body outside, stuffed it in the trunk of his car and drove to the edge of town. He hid it in a dumpster and drove back.
Over the next week, people got suspicious and wondered where Mrs. Ubridge was. Mr. Ubridge always told them that she was on a business trip in Siberia, also visiting family. It was a believable story, but Mr. Ubridge was always scared that someone would find out that he murdered his wife.
Another two days later, Mr. Ubridge received a call. He answered the phone. He found out it was the local police. This was their conversation.
“Hello? Who is this?”
“Good Morning. I am Sheriff Johnson. Is this Mr. Ubridge?”
“Yes. What is the matter?”
“We have some bad news, Mr. Ubridge. Your wife has been found dead in a dumpster. We suggest you come to the murder scene immediately.”
“Oh no! I will be there as soon as I can.”
“Thank You, Mr. Ubridge. “
Mr. Ubridge’s heart was pounding as he got into his car and drove to the dumpster where he had hid the body. Upon arriving, he was promptly arrested.
“Mr. Ubridge, you are arrested for the first-degree murder of Katherine Ubridge.” The Sheriff said.

How did the sheriff know that it was Mr. Ubridge who committed the murder?

Answer:
The sheriff never specified where the murder scene was. If he didn’t commit the murder, how would he know where the body was hidden?
